Ryokan returned and caught him. “You may have come a long way to visit me,” he told the prowler, “and you shoud not return emptyhanded. Please take my clothes as a gift.”
The thief was bewildered. He took the clothes and slunk away.
Ryokan sat naked, watching the moon. “Poor fellow,” he mused, “I wish I could give him this beautiful moon.”
You know, at one point do we leave people alone? I have asked alot of people lately if they think that Britney would be in the situation she was in, or if Anna Nicole would be dead, if we had just left them alone. Can you possibly imagine every move you make being monitored by millions of people, everything you say being judged. I run into enough friggin problems in my small social circle of fifty or so friends, family, and colleagues. Imagine going out with your buddies and having a few to many to drink, being "that guy or girl" and not only do your friends know how the night played out, but your picture in all you vomit induced glory is plastered on the front page of hundreds of papers, your on Yahoo's home page, and your night of-what you thought were good ideas at the time- end up the most Digged you tube video of all time. Your family gets emails, your kids are ridiculed, you end up on Oprah, or with Barbara Walters and you infamy makes you famous. These stars deal with this kind of bullshit every day, and all because we are all to bored with our own friggin lives. If we put all the money we spend on tabloid trash, and all the time we spend trying to find the latest dirt and pics online back into our own lives, I think we would be pleasantly surprised. I blame myself and every one of the general public for what happened to these two beautifully talented young women. Shame on us.
P.s. I usually don't rant like this but the following picture and the fact that it was on the front page of digg really pissed me off.
That was probably the best hour of T.V bar none so far this year. I can,t remember the last time I said "No friggin way" so many times during one show.(I am a lost freak too so that's saying alot.) They really took the game to a whole new level tonight. It blows my mind that this show continually gets better and better every week.
Granted, I watched the Grammys 1 week later than most of the TV watching audience, I just have to say how impressed I was with the musical performances. This is the first year that I really enjoyed most of the performances, and most of the speeches were to the point, short and sweet. Gnarls Barkley was amazing, and even though I thought Rascal Flats were sub-par at best(and everyone knows I am not a big country fan) I though Carrie underwood gave a very solid performance(even with the sketchy guy from Rascal Flats constantly and noticeably checking her out). I was surprised at how under impressed I was with the Red Hot Chili peppers, I mean they are a great band, but with the level that everyone else brought their performances to it just seemed O.K. Even Chris Brown bringing stomp dancing to the stage was very impressive, as was Ludacris. The respect that they showed the new artists as well as the old ones was great. Lionel ritchie sounded amazing, Smokey Robinson not so much. Christina Aguilera singing "It's a mans world" in dedication to James Brown was fantastic and the cape over the microphone with the single spot was powerful. The girl who sang with John Legend and John Mayer-Corinne Bailey Rae was absolutely amazing, the voice of an angel, and I am going to get her album on Itunes A.S.A.P. All and all it was an amazing show but I tell you I was totally blown away with Mary J Blige, goddamn can that woman sing, and the emotion she conveys is way above and beyond 90 percent of the artists performing today. I would have loved to have posted all the performances but I am only going to put up the best one.
